The Jomoro District Police Command in the Western Region have arrested a student and two other young men for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl.

The police gave the names of the suspects as Alexander Sam, alias Efpac; 23, unemployed, Joseph Buah also known as Miky; 27, unemployed and Godwin Bessah, alias Ayisem; 23, a student of Half Assini Secondary School.

They were said to have met the victim, an iced water seller at about 11:30pm at Roman Junction, a suburb of Half Assini, whilst returning home.

According to the police, the three were allegedly smoking substances suspected to be marijuana prior to the act.

The Jomoro District Police Commander, Superintendent John Dzineku told Graphic Online that Bessah, who knew the victim, called her to engage in a conversation.

The three later dragged the victim to an uncompleted building at the Anglican JSS and spread their shirts on the floor, stripped her naked, held her legs and hands apart and defiled her one after the other.

Supt Dzineku said after the act, the victim began feeling dizzy and Bessah sensing danger escorted her close to her house and left her.

According to the Police Commander, the victim who was then in pain, reported her ordeal to her grandmother, who also reported the issue to the Police.

The victim was taken to the Half Assini Government Hospital where she was admitted, treated and discharged the following day. She was however taken back to the hospital with complaints of abdominal pains.

The District Police Commander said all three suspects were currently in custody and that Bessah has admitted penetrating the victim whilst the others have said they did not penetrate her with their manhood but they inserted their fingers and held her legs and hands for Bessah to penetrate.
