Hon Kofi Essaw

Togo justice minister to address Ghanaian businessmen

The Minister of Justice of the Republic of Togo, Hon. Kofi Essaw, will address this year’s national convention of the Ghana branch of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGMFI) slated for August 25 to 27 in Accra.

He will share the testimony of his life as a Christian politician at the convention’s Breakfast Meeting at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra where he is expected to use the platform to challenge adult Christian men and women organisations in Africa to lead the moral revolution needed to transform Africa into a continent free from corruption.

Announcing this in Accra, Mr George Prah, an industrialist and national president of FGBMFI-Ghana, said Mr Essaw had been advisedly selected to address the convention “at a critical time like this in Africa which leaves very little doubt that much of the continent’s woes can be blamed on immoral and corrupt leadership at all levels of society, a situation that has adversely affected our economies.’’

“There is also very little doubt that righteous living, based on adherence to Christian principles, is the prescription for the continent. We think that the story of a Cabinet Minister in Africa whose life has been transformed by the Word of God needs to be shared to encourage Africa that it is possible to allow God to rule in our lives,” Mr Prah said.

Influential members of society

No fewer than 200 influential members of the society, including politicians, captains of industry, senior journalists and other top media managers, have been invited to the convention which will be attended by hundreds of the fellowship’s members from across the country.

Other speakers at the convention will include Lord Kenya, one-time hiplife rapper now an evangelist who will share the story of his new found faith in Christ at the convention’s youth assembly.

The evening rallies will be addressed by Professor Stephen Adei, former Rector of GIMPA, Dr Segun Falope, from Nigeria, Dr C.J. Buckman, from the UK and Michelle Hammond from the USA.

Meanwhile, in the run-up to the climax of the convention, the Fellowship will undertake a number of activities as its corporate social responsibility. There will be donations to an orphanage in Ho, the Volta Regional capital, and the children’s unit of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
