They are said to have snatched her handbag after threatening her with a gun while she was walking towards the Country Kitchen area at about 7:45pm.
Mrs Tenge said the woman raised the alarm while her attackers were bolting which attracted the attention of some persons close by.
While the good Samaritans were pursuing the suspected bag snatchers, a national security operative who was close by arrived at the scene and joined in the bid to arrest the suspects.
In the course of the pursuit the motor rider allegedly fell off and was arrested while his two accomplices escaped.
The motorbike was impounded and handed over to the regional police command together with the suspect.
A few minutes later the Osu police received information that a man was being lynched by an angry mob close to the Trust Hospital around Kuku Hill.
