One person has been confirmed dead in Thursday afternoon's gory accident in front of the west gate of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in the Central Region.
The accident occurred around 12:48 pm.
Five others who sustained various injuries are responding to treatment in hospital. They are made up of one woman and the remaining are males.
CCTV footage shows how a tipper truck loaded with sand run over three vehicles at the intersection and a pedestrian who was waiting to cross the road.
The accident vehicles included the tipper truck with registration number GN 5701–19, a Honda CRV SUV with registration number CR 329 - 20, a Nissan Sentra saloon car with registration number CR 1756 - 12, and a rickshaw [commonly referred to as pragya] with registration number M-20–CR 1262.
An occupant in the saloon vehicle (red) was unresponsive when he was taken out of the vehicle.
