
UniMAC confers MPhil, MA Degrees on 205 students
A total of 205 students, including 116 females and 89 males, received their Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Master of Arts (MA) degrees from the University of Media, Arts, and Communication (UniMAC) in Accra on Friday, March 21, 2025.
In his address at the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor of UniMAC, Prof. Eric Opoku Mensah reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to preparing graduates with the skills needed for the 21st-century economy.
“Our alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) underscores our dedication to quality education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), industry innovation (SDG 9), and reducing inequalities (SDG 10),” he stated.
“Through research, policy advocacy, and academic excellence, we remain resolute in shaping a future where education serves as the bridge to prosperity,” he added.

Prof. Mensah also highlighted the importance of expanding infrastructure, improving student welfare, and enhancing faculty development, urging the government to support the university in achieving these goals.
He encouraged the graduates to be resilient, adapt to the ever-evolving job market, and continue learning in order to make the impact they aspire to.
In an interview, a postgraduate student in Development Communication, Mr James Amoh Junior described his academic journey as “transformative and enlightening.”
He explained that the course offered a deeper understanding of the intersection between communication and sustainable development, equipping students with the tools to drive social change through strategic messaging and storytelling.
“This experience has reshaped the way I approach journalism and communication. It has deepened my commitment to using my platform not just to inform, but to influence policies and empower communities,” he said.
