Ghana records 12 new Mpox cases, total now 980
Ghana has recorded 12 new cases of Mpox as of January 18, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 980, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
The GHS said the total number of deaths stands at seven, with no new deaths recorded. One person is currently on admission.
The Service explained that Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with an infected person and has therefore urged the public to take preventive measures to protect themselves and others.
The public are advised to maintain good personal hygiene and to promptly report to the nearest health facility if they experience symptoms such as fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and tiredness.
