Dedicating the facility, the Director in charge of medical, social and community service of the church, Major Heather Craig, said the church was committed to participating significantly in the delivery of faith-based, integrated and quality primary health care, to make the service as close to families as possible, giving priority to the poor and marginalised members of the society.

He commended the management of the hospital for committing themselves to giving the best possible maternal health care to the beneficiary community.

Commitment

Major Craig exhorted the nurses, midwives and staff of the Begoro Health Centre to continue to be committed to giving excellent customer, evidence-based maternal and child health care and to treat all clients as if they were caring for Jesus Christ.

He said this would also be evident as "you strive towards reaching the Sustainable Development Goal Three, in line with the country’s National Health Agenda’’.

The District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa, Mr Mohammed Fuseini Sbabe, in an address read on his behalf, thanked the Salvation Army for the support, and was happy that the facility now has a resident medical doctor.

He, however, expressed regret that the health centre still faced some challenges including lack of physician assistants and general nurses, and stated that the assembly would do its best to assist the facility to ensure accessible health care to people in the district and beyond.
