14 contest in three constituencies in North East
Fourteen aspirants have filed their nominations to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in three constituencies in the North East Region where the party has sitting Members of Parliament (MPs).
The constituencies are Nalerigu/Gambaga, Bunkpurugu and Walewale.
Aspirants
In the Nalerigu/Gambaga Constituency, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama, who is also the sitting MP, has three other persons contesting her.

They are Mohammed Sampa, Peter Wuni and Dr Musah Yamba Issahaku.
In the Bunkpurugu Constituency, the North East Regional Minister and sitting MP, Mr Solomon Namliit Boar, also has three others to contend with.
They are Jabong Minnyilia, Daniel Duut Janamah and Francis Konbong Tingoti.
Six aspirants will be contesting in the Walewale Constituency.
They are the sitting MP, Dr Sagre Bambangi, who is also a Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Lariba Zuwera Abudu, Seth Pamwum Boyoyo, Yidana Zakaria, Ishaq Issahaku and Dr Susana Alo.
Admonition
A release issued and signed by Mr Sulley Sambian, the NPP North East Regional Secretary, admonished the contestants to undertake their campaigns in a manner that would not divide the ranks of the party, that is the use of foul language to undermine their opponents, ahead of the 2020 election.

He also cautioned officers of the party in the constituencies to desist from the open endorsement of aspirants.
