Speaking during a media engagement in Accra, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the significant strides made under the Akufo-Addo administration, which has created over 2.1 million jobs in the past seven years.

However, he recognized that there are still pressing concerns regarding employment among the youth.

"There are many areas that we will tackle to ensure young people can secure jobs," Dr. Bawumia stated.

He highlighted the importance of fostering business growth as a means to increase employment opportunities, noting that his administration would introduce a range of incentives to support business expansion.

"We are looking at the growth of businesses which will lead to more hiring, and we have proposed a number of incentives to help businesses grow," he explained.

Dr. Bawumia also outlined a comprehensive tax reform program designed to create a more favorable environment for businesses, including the implementation of a flat tax rate and tax amnesty.

Recognizing the critical role of education and training, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the need to enhance investment in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to better equip the youth with essential skills.

"We believe that training the youth is very important, so the investment we are making in TVET will be significantly improved," he asserted.

Furthermore, Dr. Bawumia stressed the importance of equipping the youth with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills, noting that such training would open up job opportunities both within Ghana and internationally.

"We are also committed to training the youth in a broad area of ICT skills, and many of our trained youth will have the opportunity to secure jobs in Ghana and from various places abroad," he added.
