Examine your living conditions – Akufo-Addo tells electorate

THE 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has called on the electorate to take a careful look at their living conditions and vote for a government whose priority will be to improve their livelihoods.

“It is clear that Ghana needs change from the severe economic hardships and rising cost of living she is facing under President Mahama’s government,” Nana Akufo- Addo stated and gave an assurance that under his government, the country would be put back onto the path of progress and prosperity.

The three-time flag bearer stated that when he joined the chiefs and people of the Shai Osudoku to mourn the late paramount chief and President of the traditional area, Nene Klagbordjor V.

Tribute

Paying tribute to the late Nene Klagbordjor,  who reigned for 70 years and died in 2014 at the age of 90, the NPP flag bearer, who spoke in Ga, noted that the death of the late chief was a great loss, not only to the people of Shai Osudoku but to the nation, as he made significant contributions to the development of the nation.

According to Nana Akufo-Addo, the gathering of thousands of people from different walks of life, as well as from different political affiliations, pointed to a life well-lived by Nene Klagbordjor.

He prayed for wisdom and good health for Nene Gmogmowuyea VI, the successor to the late paramount chief, and called on the people of Shai Osudoku to fully support their new chief.

Accompanied by NPP stalwarts from the Greater Accra Region, Nana Akufo-Addo, according to a party statement, was mobbed by thousands of residents as well as mourners, amid chants of “Wa ma cha ke mi”– to wit: 'We'll change leadership,' as he made his way to the funeral grounds at Osuwem.

Those accompanying him included Mr Ishmael Ashitey, NPP Greater Accra Regional Chairman; Alfred Boye, NPP Greater Accra 1st Vice Chairman; Fred Offei, NPP Shai Osudoku Chairman; Stephen Oyortey, NPP parliamentary candidate for Shai Osudoku; Nii Adjiri Blankson, former Mayor of Accra and member of the NPP National Council of Elders; Ms Ursula Owusu, MP for Ablekuma West; Jerry Ahmed Shaib, NPP parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma South; and Sylvester Tetteh, NPP parliamentary candidate for Ningo Prampram.

On behalf of the NPP, a donation of GH¢2,000 and bottles of schnapps was made towards the funeral.
