Jailed 'Evangelist' Agradaa fights back: Files appeal and seeks bail over 15-year sentence
Patricia Asiedua, also known as Agradaa, a serving convict and founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, has filed for bail pending the outcome of an appeal before the High Court.
In the bail application, the lawyer for the applicant argued that “the appeal has a strong chance of success due to the flaws that characterised the trial and the bias exhibited by the trial judge.”

According to the lawyer, the judge failed to consider mitigating factors presented during sentencing, despite making reference to Ghana’s Sentencing Guidelines.
On July 3, 2025, an Accra Circuit Court sentenced Agradaa, popularly known as Evangelist Mama Pat, to 15 years in prison on charges of engaging in charlatanic advertisement and two counts of defrauding by false pretences.
The defence described the sentence as harsh and excessive.
An appeal has, therefore, been filed at the Amasaman High Court challenging both the conviction and sentence.
