Three Hohoe E.P. SHS students arrested over alleged vandalism

Three immediate past students of Hohoe E.P. Senior High School have been arrested by the Volta North Regional Police Command for allegedly damaging the school’s water pipeline after completing their final examinations.

The arrests followed a complaint by the school authorities that about five former students, captured in a video, had unlawfully damaged the water pipeline before leaving for their various homes.

In a statement issued on June 23, 2026, the police said the complaint was lodged on June 19 after the video of the incident came to their attention.

The police subsequently mounted an intelligence operation, leading to the arrest of three suspects identified as Rashid Suraj Dakpo, 19, Alhassan Mohammed, 20, and Abdul Kadri Abdulai, 20.

According to the police, the suspects have been handed over to the Regional Investigations Department to assist with investigations and are being processed to face trial.

The Volta North Regional Police Command said acts of vandalism involving students appeared to be on the rise and warned that persons found engaging in such conduct would face the full rigours of the law.

The command added that efforts were ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects linked to the incident.

It also appealed to parents, guardians and teachers to continue educating their wards about the consequences of destroying school and public property.
