The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance exercises across the Ashanti, Central, and Accra regions for Wednesday, June 24, as part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery.
In the Ashanti Region, multiple outages are scheduled. Affected communities include Oyoko, Asaaman, Banko, Atwea, and Kumawu, which will experience interruptions from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Additionally, power will be cut from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in areas including RCC, Danyame, Ridge, Suntreso Ghana Water Office, City Hotel, KMA Residency, Tigo Main Office, Nhyiaeso, Yegola Hotel, Dakwadwum, TUC, and Fankyenebra. Moshie Zongo, Old Ash. FM, and surrounding areas will be affected from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, while Low Cost, Juansa, Hwediem, and Agogo will experience outages from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Parts of Ekym, Buobai, and Akokoamon will also be affected during the same period.
In the Central Region, two separate maintenance exercises are scheduled. Attabadze, Brenu Akyim, Eduagyei, Sanka, Bronyibima, Akwanda and surrounding areas will be without power from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Additionally, parts of Swedru township, including Bungalow, Aboso, Otabilkrom, Manhodwe, Wawase, Jacobkrom, Mensakrom, Nsaba, Duakwa, Namanwura, Asarekwaa, Nyakrom, Otsenkorang and surrounding areas, will also be affected during the same period.
In the Accra East Region, A&C Shopping Mall, Dodowa Township, Ayikuma Junction, Doryumu and surrounding areas will experience outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Accra West Region will also see power cuts in Darkuman, Kokompe, Nsufa, NIC, Anyaa Deeper Life, Anyaa Market, Tabora Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6, Alhaji trotro station, Tantra Hills and surrounding areas from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
ECG has apologised to customers for the inconvenience that will arise from these exercises and has assured them that the maintenance works are necessary to improve service delivery. The company has urged affected customers to make alternative arrangements and remain patient as the scheduled works are carried out.
