The Philippines has decided to open an Embassy in Ghana later this year for the first time in the history of Ghana-Philippines bilateral relations.
This was made known by Ghana's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who commended the government of the Philippines for the move during a meeting with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Mr Ablakwa said the two sides have agreed to deepen trade and investment, convene business fora in both countries, and establish a chamber of commerce.
He said they have also agreed to exchange ideas and expertise on labour mobility agreements.
The meeting formed part of Ghana's ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and expand economic cooperation with partner countries.
