Ghana losing its norms, traditions — Korankye Ankrah

The General Overseer of the Royalhouse Chapel International, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, has said that 2014 would be a year when Ghanaians would experience tremendous growth in all their endeavours.

Rev. Ankrah made this remark at the eighth matriculation and graduation of the Christian Leadership College (CLC).

Rev. Ankrah, who is also the President of CLC, noted that the norms and traditions that shaped society were being lost gradually.

That, he said, informed his decision to establish the CLC to help uphold the norms and morals that built and made society strong.

Upholding  morality

The Apostle General indicated that society was losing its moral grounds and advised the graduates to uphold what they believed and eschew evil.

“We must preserve this society and stand against the invasion of foreign cultures that are detrimental to ours,” Rev. Ankrah stressed.

He said the college awarded scholarships to brilliant, needy students as the social responsibility of the church.

Foreign cultures

Speaking on the theme, “Who is on the other side?”, a former Chairman of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Mr Moses Foh Amoaning, challenged the graduates to uphold their convictions and not allow foreign cultures to infiltrate what they believed in.

Mr Amoaning explained that the world was rooted in human views and wickedness that accepted anything no matter how evil it was.

He mentioned homosexuality, prostitution, and the intake of hard drugs as some of the worldly views that had been legalised in some western countries and advised Ghanaian leaders not to legalise such acts.

Mr Amoaning, who is also a legal practitioner, urged  intellectuals and leaders in the country to stand for what they believed in without fear or intimidation from the western world.

Graduates and matriculants

Eighty students graduated with various certificates in ministry, while 63 matriculated for 2013/2014 academic year.

The graduates received certificates in Ministry and Advanced Leadership in Theology with Management.

Additionally, 40 graduates from other tertiary institutions, who pursued certain courses in the college, were given special awards and certificates.
