Nhyiaeso MP donates bus to constituency
The Director of Operations at the Office of the President, Mr Lord Commey, has reminded party officials of the need to be at the service of the people they represented.
He said it was only through their service to the people that they would get the needed support to pursue their programmes.
According to him, the service one rendered while in office “determines the kind of support the people in the constituency or locality will give out”.

“We are elected to serve the people and the people we serve will only renew our mandates when they realise we are committed to serving them and seeking their welfare,” Mr Commey said.
Mr Commey said these when he addressed an event during which the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Nhyiaeso Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mr Kennedy Kwasi Kankam, presented a new 33-seater bus to the constituency of the party.
The bus is to be used for party activities and also convey delegates to regional and national programmes.
Party office
At a ceremony to hand over the bus to the constituency, the MP was grateful to the constituents for their support over the years and asked for their continuous support in the years ahead.
The handover of the bus coincided with the opening of a new party office at the Santasi roundabout.
Mr Kankam said plans were far advanced for the construction of a permanent office for the constituency and announced that a parcel of land for that purpose had already been procured.

He said he had set up the Nhyiaeso Chamber of Commerce to seek support and partnership for businesses within the Nhyiaeso enclave, and asked members of the community who had registered businesses to join the chamber to enable them to get the needed support to expand their businesses.
Service
He commended the MP for renting a new office for the party in the constituency and also supporting them with a brand new bus.
Appreciation
The Constituency Chairman, Mr George Kofi Agyei, was grateful to the MP for his kind gesture and support to the party at the constituency.
Mr Agyei, popularly called ‘Geokad’, called on all NPP members in the constituency to support the MP in his bid to develop the Nhyiaeso Constituency.

He said aside from the bus donation and the renting of an office space for the party, the MP had also given scholarships to people in the constituency and helped polling station executives set up businesses for themselves.
“I want to state it here and clearly that Kennedy Kankam is a selfless MP whose pre-occupation is seeking the welfare of the constituency and members of the NPP; and I as the chairman, as well as my family, will always support him to complete the vision he has for Nhyiaeso,” Chairman Agyei said.
