Stay focused to ensure emphatic victory - Bawumia urges NPP supporters

He said it was important for the electorate to vote for the NPP parliamentary candidates.

Nkawkaw rally

Addressing thousands of supporters in Nkawkaw last Saturday during his campaign tour of the constituency, Dr Bawumia said voting for the NPP parliamentary candidates would ensure that the NPP had a clear majority in the next parliament after the elections.

"You have all seen what has been happening in Parliament with the close numbers, 137:137 and that is worrying so we don't want a repeat of that," he said.

Dr Bawumia said the NPP was poised to win a decisive parliamentary majority if elections were held today based on what he had seen during his constituency visits.

"There is no doubt about it. If the elections are held today, the NPP will have a decisive majority. Not a majority but a decisive majority in Parliament," Dr Bawumia said.

Decisive victory

He said from his campaign tour of more than 200 constituencies, the data on the ground indicate that the NPP would have a decisive majority in Parliament.

He, however, urged the party's supporters to stay focused until December 7.

"The election is not today. It is on December 7 and if it continues like this and we all come together, by midnight on December 7, all of you will hear that the NPP has a decisive majority in Parliament," he said.

Yeji

In a related development, the Paramount Chief of Yeji in the Bono East Region, Pimanim Yaw Kabrese V, has stated that the NPP government had spread development projects across the country that had positively touched the lives of Ghanaians in the past eight years.

As a result, he said, the electorate, especially those in the Yeji traditional area, would massively reward the party and its presidential candidate in the December polls.

Pimanim Kabrese stated this when Dr Bawumia paid a courtesy call on him at his palace in Yeji last Friday as part of his campaign tour of the Pru East Constituency in the Bono East Region.

Reception

Dr Bawumia affirmed the development-oriented mindset of the NPP which reflected in previous and current NPP government’s efforts to ensure equitable national development.

He cited the roll-out of the Free SHS and Free TVET, Agenda III, provision of road construction equipment to every district and the construction of courts in every district to facilitate the administration of justice and the rule of law.

"We will also roll out a Women's Trade Empowerment Fund to provide loans and other financial services to our market women to help the markets and our economy to grow," he stated.
