Vote for Mahama, Joycelyn Tetteh - NDC chairman to Botoku residents
The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has appealed to the people of Botoku in the North Dayi Constituency to vote massively for the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Joycelyn Tetteh, in the December polls.

He said considering the great work the legislator is currently doing in Parliament, it would be proper to vote for her to continue with such excellent works.
Addressing a durbar of chiefs and people, Mr Nketiah indicated that “this is my first time coming to the area.
This is my first time in Botoku, but I want to assure you that I shall be coming over and over again after NDC’s victory. I want you all to vote massively for your MP to make my coming back possible"
Excellent MP
Eulogising the young MP, Mr Nketiah said, "Joycelyn has been one of the youngest MPs in the history of Ghana, but she is part of excellent MPs in performance through assessment. Bring Joycelyn back to Parliament for NDC. She has a very bright future and prospect."
The chairman used the occasion to address what he described as “pull-me-down syndrome” among some sections of the people and cautioned that
"there is no middle way in the NDC. Either you are with John Mahama (JM) and the Parliamentary Candidates (PCs) or you are seen as not for any at all.”
"We will recognise those who campaign for JM and Jane and do the same for the PCs. We shall show you your testimonial when you campaign skirt and blouse, after victory.
It doesn't matter if you campaign for JM and Jane; once you are against your MPs or PCs, you have no chance of knocking at our doors"
He urged the people to collaborate with the MP in executing the myriads of development projects she was undertaking, stressing, “Anything you are doing in this constituency that doesn't involve the MP will not be recognised.
We are projecting both presidential and parliamentary candidates. So doing one side and leaving the other must not be our consideration”.
“I want to remind our people here that the party did thorough work, including background checks, before finally arriving at our PC,” Mr Nketiah stressed and added that Joycelyn passed all the three stages set by the party, which included parliamentary performance, party leadership assessment, and the branch executives’ endorsement.
Opposition strategy
Exposing some of the tricks and strategies being used by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rig the elections, Mr Nketiah, also known as General Mosquito, said the NPP was coming into the elections with two weapons; one is to lie that NDC MPs were not working.
Additionally, he said, they were coming with looted state monies to share in an attempt to influence their votes and urged Ghanaians to take the monies but vote against the NPP, because the monies being shared were to be used to construct roads and provide water among other facilities for the people.
Mr Nketiah declared in his call to action, "I want to recommend the Assin North formula to you. Take the monies, chop and vote against them. After the election, compose a song for them".
Skills training
For her part, Ms Tetteh enumerated the several social intervention policies she undertook as an opposition MP, which included scholarships for students, support for SHS students, skill training programmes and borehole water projects.
Others included health support, educational infrastructure support and the licenses she had secured for many Okada riders in the North Dayi Constituency.
The chiefs in their statement appreciated NDC governments for some developmental projects and appealed for prioritisation of their roads, water projects, telecommunication networks and many more.
