During a campaign visit by Dr. Bawumia on Sunday, the Omanhene of Banda, Nana Sekyemme Sinapem II, expressed the Council’s backing, praising the NPP for delivering key development projects to the Banda Constituency under the administrations of Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo.

Nana Sinapem II highlighted the significant role the NPP has played in bringing about transformative development in Banda, stating, "All major projects in the Banda Constituency over the years have been through the NPP." He added that the Council supports Bawumia and Dankwa with the hope of further development.

The Omanhene particularly lauded the NPP for fulfilling long-standing requests such as the Bui Dam project, which had been envisioned since Kwame Nkrumah’s time but was only realized under the presidency of John Agyekum Kufuor.

"Fortunately, President Kufuor came, and we told him about it, and it materialized. We had the Bui Dam project right here, which opened up this place."

Other projects in Banda he attributed to the NPP government include electrification initiatives, road improvements, and the constituency’s first tarred road, all of which were carried out during President Kufuor’s administration. The Omanhene also acknowledged the Akufo-Addo government's expansion of the Bui project, adding solar energy, as well as the construction of roads, durbar grounds, and an astroturf.

In response, Dr. Bawumia expressed his gratitude to the Traditional Council for their support and assured them of his commitment to addressing their concerns.

He promised to continue the NPP's track record of development and accountability, noting that he would return to seek their mandate in the future.
