The President, who is accompanied by his wife, Lordina, and high-ranking government officials, will also lead various roundtable discussions on investment in Ghana and Africa.

An official statement said the President would make a presentation to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Ebola and the security situation in the West African sub-region.

President Mahama will today open the Global African Investment Forum in London.

Queen Elizabeth is the Head of State of the United Kingdom, constitutional monarch of 15 other countries and Head of the Commonwealth.

In what will be a busy week of international engagements, Mr Mahama will also visit Denmark, where he will hold meetings with the Danish Prime Minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, and the Crown Prince of Denmark, Prince Frederick.

During the two-day official visit to Copenhagen, the President will deliver the keynote address at the main plenary of the Global Green Growth Forum and join the Danish Prime Minister to speak at another plenary on how to transform the consumption pattern of consumers and the citizenry.

In both London and Copenhagen, President Mahama will hold meetings with various business and investment groups with the view to showcasing the opportunities available in Ghana and on the continent for investment.

In a related development, the President last Friday paid a short visit to Abuja, Nigeria, for talks with President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

The meeting  centred on the security situation in the West African sub-region, particularly progress on the handling of the Boko Haram situation.

Media reports last Friday quoted Nigerian government sources as saying that the government had reached an agreement with Boko Haram for the release of the over 200 girls abducted by the radical Islamist group in north eastern Nigeria a couple of months ago.

No confirmation or otherwise of the report came from Boko Haram and the girls are yet to be freed.

While in Abuja, the two leaders also delved into the management of the Ebola virus disease in the three affected countries in West Africa and how it was being managed in the sub-region.

President Mahama thanked Mr Jonathan and the government and people of Nigeria for supporting Ghana to airlift humanitarian aid to the three countries.

A total of 3,000 bags of Ghanaian-grown white long grain rice, 300 cartons each of made-in-Ghana cooking oil, cocoa products and milk have been airlifted to support the three countries.

Mr Mahama also discussed with President Jonathan the challenges regarding the irregular supply of gas by the West African Gas Pipeline project which were having a negative impact on Ghana's electricity generation and distribution.
