The Member of Parliament for New Juaben North, who  described last year as a difficult one for Ghanaians, expressed optimism that the year 2015 would be a good one for Ghanaians to realise their aspirations.

Compounded

He,however, said "If what happened in 2014 continues, then our problems would be compounded because businesses would be hard hit, leading to loss of employment and shutdowns", he said in an interview with the Daily Graphic in Koforidua.

Nana Boateng said statutory  funds, including the GETFund, District Assemblies Common Fund, and and National Health Insurance Authority, were all in arrears and that as a result, assemblies were not working.

According to him, the GETFund was owing a lot of contractors, hence most projects were now at a standstill, pointing out that "if all these funds are paid, all of us have to work harder to ensure that the economy is put in the right shape".

Getfund

Touching on developments in the New Juaben North Constituency, he said a number of projects had been undertaken, namely the pavement of the Asokore community centre, construction of a three -unit classroom block for the Roman Catholic School at Oyoko, and donation of over 600 bags of cement to various educational institutions.

He said resources from the GETFund would be used to fence the Oyoko health centre, while the Akwadum health facility would be given a facelift.

"This year, through the Social Investment Fund(SIF), the frontage of the Hackman Social Centre at Oyoko would be paved in addition to the building of a community centre at Suhyen with my share of the MP's Common Fund," he added.

Nana Boateng called on his constituents to collaborate with him so that “we can advance the development of the constituency and also work together for the good of the people”.
