NDC begins vetting of aspiring national executive officers

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has begun vetting aspirants seeking to contest various national executive positions.

The vetting exercise is taking place at the party’s national headquarters, Kokomlemle in Accra. 

One hundred and four candidates who completed the nomination process out of one hundred and fifteen who picked the forms are expected to go through vetting which ends on Wednesday, December 3.

Three contestants for women organizer; 11 for deputy women organizer contestants; 6 youth organizer contestants and 11 deputy youth organizer contestants are the first batch of aspirants to undergo the vetting process.

“Four (4) candidates are contesting for the National Chairman position, General Secretary (2), National Organizer (3), and Treasurer (4), Propaganda (3) and 13 National Executive Committee (NEC) members.  They will be vetted on Tuesday, December 2,” a statement by the party announced.

“On Wednesday, December 3, vice chairmen (17), deputy general secretaries (6), deputy national organizers (4), deputy treasurer (5) and 12 contestants for two deputy propaganda positions will be vetted.

“Apart from the youth and women organizers positions vetting which begin at 10 am, the remaining categories will start at 2pm on scheduled days.

“The party has scheduled the youth and women organizers conference for Saturday December 6.”
