NDC founder member commends Prez

Mr Kofi Mintah, a founder member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has congratulated President John Dramani Mahama on the last State of the Nation Address he delivered.

Mr Mintah said he was particularly happy with the President's decision to introduce free senior high school education during the 2015/16 academic year and added that the State of the Nation Address had proved that the government had the welfare of the nation in mind.

Mr Mintah also said the President  had actually demonstrated that the Better Ghana Agenda was on course and appealed to Ghanaians to support him to fix the challenges confronting the nation.

According to him, what is needed is hard work to support the government to improve the lives of all Ghanaians.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel”, he said, and urged all Ghanaians to be patient and wait for better times.

Mr Mintah appealed to Ghanaians to be circumspect about what they say about the country in order not to discourage investors from coming into the country to help its economic growth.

He expressed concern about how Ghanaians practise a democracy in the country, and advised against the introduction of partisan politics into the discussion of national issues since that would divide the nation.

“We must see ourselves as one people with a common destiny”, Mr Mintah concluded. - GNA
