Tamale still venue for NPP national conference
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the venue for its April 12 National Delegates Conference has not changed.
“Tamale Sports Stadium remains the venue for the conference,” a statement from the party has said.
Recent disturbances in Tamale have been of concern to some party members, especially the Director of Elections, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, who told TV3 last week Wednesday that the party was following events in the northern regional capital keenly.
He, however, said: “We believe in the work of the police and security agencies that this will be brought under control.”
The NPP statement, signed by acting Director of Communications, Mr Perry Okudzeto, stated that “the Elections Committee of the NPP would like to state emphatically that the venue for its April 12, 2014 National Delegates Conference remains unchanged.”
“We urge all party members, aspirants and supporters to disregard any media report of a change in the venue,” it concluded.
