Ebusua Dwarfs coach bemoans COVID-19 challenges
THE Head Coach of Ebusua Dwarfs, Ernest Thompson Quartey, has bemoaned the challenges which have engulfed the club following the suspension of the Ghana Premier League due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Ghana Premier League has been on suspension for two months now, putting a huge financial burden on the clubs.
Financial challenges
In an interview with the Daily Graphic, Coach Quartey said though the break had taken a toll on the club financially, the players have been given individual assignments to avoid being rusty.
“Though we use a Whatsapp platform in monitoring the training sessions of the players at home, it is difficult to ascertain whether truly the players were following the organogram of the team to be fit while in their homes,” he stated.

According to the coach of the Cape Coast-based club, he managed to beef up his squad with six new players when the second window was
opened last month and hoped to turn around the fortunes of the team when the league returns.
Priority to players' health
However, Coach Quartey said he would not like to risk the life of any player until the Ministry of Health and the other stakeholders give the go ahead and, therefore, advised other clubs to adhere to the safety measures and avoid rushing any player to the field of play for a game.
Touching on rumours regarding the signing of Asiedu Attobrah, Coach Quartey explained that they had spoken at length with the player’s manager, which was followed with the signing of a pre-contract, but due to the break they could not get access to his documents to finalise the contract before the window closed.
Dwarfs won four matches, drew thrice and lost eight games before the suspension of the league and are occupying the 16th position with 15 points.
