I deserve a place in Black Stars squad — Saka

Aduana Stars defender, Godfred Saka, believes his performance at the last African Nations Championship (CHAN) should earn him a place in the Black Stars ahead of the next World Cup in Brazil.

The 25-year-old right back played a vital role in the local Black Stars team that won silver at the last CHAN and football fans are looking forward to seeing him in the squad for the global showpiece.

In an interview with Graphic Sports, Saka said: “I think my performance at the CHAN competition should do the talking for me and  help me secure a call-up from Kwasi Appiah”.

“I will also have the chance to convince Coach Appiah during  the second half of the ongoing league”, he added.

 Saka also disclosed  that, he had an offer to play outside just after the WAFU Cup competition staged in Kumasi but couldn’t make it due to an injury.

He said his dream had always been to play in Europe.

“I had the chance to go outside after the WAFU Cup but couldn’t make it due to an injury but I have always dreamed of playing in Europe”, he revealed.

 For the moment he said, his focus was to help his club to make a respectable placing on the First Capital Plus League log.
