Oloboi Commodore: Great Olympics will beat Hearts of Oak narrowly

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Great Olympics, Mr Oloboi Commodore, has predicted a lone goal victory over arch rivals, Hearts of Oak, in tomorrow’s Premier League derby at the Accra Stadium.

A confident Commodore told the Daily Graphic that his side would earn the bragging rights at the end of the much-awaited titanic match day 10 league fixture.

Hearts will play host to Olympics in a potential thriller tomorrow, with both sides seeking to earn an important win.

Speaking to this paper yesterday ahead of the big game, Mr Commodore described the Hearts team as one of the best in the top flight currently but believed his side had what it took to beat them tomorrow.

He stated that Olympics had improved this season and were playing confidently as compared to the previously truncated campaign.

“We want what Hearts of Oak want and that is a win. They can’t beat us on Saturday because we have an improved team now.

“I am confident that by the end of the match we will carry the day with a lone goal victory over Hearts,” he predicted.

Olympics have been consistent this season, with inspirational skipper, Gladson Awako, and the Quaye brothers - Maxwell and Samuel - usually stepping up for the Wonder Club in most of their matches.

The clash represents the toughest task for Coach Yaw Preko since taking over Olympics in a caretaker capacity for the indisposed Annor Walker.

Hearts go into this game with five wins, two draws and a loss under their new Serbian trainer, Kosta Papic. The Phobians are in high spirits, having gone five matches without defeat, aside the 4-0 thrashing of Olympics in their last encounter in Accra last season.

However, Mr Commodore did not regard that fixture because the Ghana Football Association (GFA) truncated the entire season, making that defeat null and void.

“As far as I’m concerned, last season’s league was truncated and that goes along with all the results that came in,” he said.
