Ghana's in-form player, Thomas Partey, is continuing with his impressive run as he scored the winner for Atletico Madrid in their 1-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna in the Spanish La Liga last Saturday.

The Executive Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr Kwame Kyei, is on a collision course with some aggrieved players of the club who were left out of the GH¢5,000 winning bonus package for winning the MTN FA Cup.

The afftected players are agitating against the decision by the management to ignore them in the sharing of the GH¢5,000 winning bonus per player for only those who were named for the final game in Tamale, describing it as ‘unfair treatment.

It is certainly a dream come true what Aduana Stars have been looking forward to, after their aborted African Club Championship seven years ago and what a way to welcome their new challenge.

It was a great day to remember at Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo Region last Sunday as the new Ghana Premier League champions (GPL) Aduana Stars finally received their awards, prizes and medals for their effort in the 2016/2017 season.

Aduana will take Africa by storm — Dormaahene

The bankroller of Aduana Stars, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, has assured the people of Dormaa-Ahenkro and Ghanaians that his club will take Africa by storm in next year’s CAF Champions League.

The Dormaahene gave an assurance last Sunday when he hosted the media at his palace in Dormaa-Ahenkro a few minutes after the grand coronation of the club as the new Premier League champions.

Cricket: Everest crowned Diwali Cup champions

Everest Cricket Club have won the 2017 Diwali Cup for the second time in two years after beating Balagi Group of Companies (BGC) in the final last Sunday.

The annual event held at the Achimota Cricket Oval saw the defending champions winning the toss and electing to bat first. They scored 2014-3 in 20 overs in the first innings. Ramesh scored an outstanding over a century 106-59 while Bharani Kumar scored 61-43. Vikran, in the bowling figures took 2-25 in two overs, while Mahi 1-35 in four overs.

Pirlo announces retirement

Former Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo has announced he is retiring from football after playing his last game for New York City.

The 38-year-old won 116 caps for Italy and helped them win the 2006 World Cup.
