Asante Kotoko coach, David Duncan

And Duncan’s lawyer threatens to sue Kotoko

The legal representative of beleaguered Asante Kotoko coach, David Duncan, Larbi Amoah (aka Barbados), has threatened to go to court on behalf of his client if the management of Kotoko fails to rescind its decision to let his client step aside from the job.

According to him, nowhere in the contract signed between Duncan and Kotoko was it stipulated that he has to step aside in case of a disagreement or an impending dismissal.

“We are under contract and the contract spelt out all modalities; how we treat termination and how we treat dispute.  I have looked at the letter and the words step aside we do not understand it, so they (Kotoko management) must explain it to us because it is not part of the contract,” Mr Amoah revealed in an interview with Joy Sports on MultiTv last Tuesday.

He contended that Kotoko did not quote any sections of the contract that Duncan had breached and, therefore, he (Amoah) could not fathom why his client had to ‘step aside’.

Duncan’s solicitor noted that the contract between his client and Kotoko was professional and, therefore, must be regarded as such.

He promised to take steps to implore Kotoko to remedy the situation, but if they proved adamant, they would go to court.
