
President Mahama nominates four new deputy ministers including Dorcas Afo-Toffey
President John Dramani Mahama has nominated four persons for appointment as Deputy Ministers.
According to Felix Kwakye Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, that is the "last batch of Deputy Minister" nominations by the President.
They are Dorcas Afo-Toffey, Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro for the position of Deputy Minister of Transport, James Gyakye Quayson, MP for Assin North as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Adam Sukparu (MP) for Sissala West for the position of Deputy Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations and Grace Ayensu-Danquah (MP) for Essikado-Ketan as Deputy Minister of Health.
In a statement dated July 9, 2025, Mr Kwakye Ofosu explained the nominations were done by the President in accordance with Articles 78 (1) and 79(1) of the Constitution and that their names have been submitted to Parliament through the Speaker for prior approval to serve as Deputy Ministers.
