Black Maidens to face Nigeria's Flamingos in WAFU B U17 Girls Cup final
Ghana's Black Maidens will take on Nigeria's Flamingos in the final of the inaugural WAFU B U17 Girls Cup on Sunday, December 22, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
The Black Maidens put on an impressive performance in the semi-final, defeating Côte d'Ivoire 5-0. Christiana Ashiaku scored a stunning hat-trick, while Zipporah Ayantoya and Seidatu Wahab also found the back of the net, securing Ghana’s spot in the final.

Ashiaku opened the scoring in the 13th minute, doubled the lead in the 16th, and completed her hat-trick just before halftime.
Ghana dominated from the outset, showing both attacking prowess and defensive stability. Ayantoya made it 4-0 in the 48th minute, and Wahab sealed the 5-0 victory with a calm finish in the 67th minute.

In the other semi-final, Nigeria secured a 2-0 win over Benin to reach the final. The Flamingos have been in fine form throughout the tournament, scoring 14 goals and conceding just two. Mary Lucky Mkpo and Peace Effiong netted the goals that earned Nigeria a place in the final.
