Faith Ladies stun Hasaacas to reach Women's FA Cup final
Faith Ladies are through to the final of the 2025 Women's FA Cup after eliminating giants Hasaacas Ladies in their semi-final clash on Sunday.
Though both teams are Women's Premier League (WPL) sides, Hasaacas Ladies were the favourites to advance, given their commanding lead in the league and their status as 2021 champions.
However, if there is any competition known for its unpredictability, it is the FA Cup. Faith Ladies secured victory with a 69th-minute strike from Dorcas Okyere.
Both teams fielded relatively new squads, with Hasaacas missing their experienced duo, Mukarama Abdulai and Milot Pokuaa, due to injuries, while Faith Ladies had lost over ten players to foreign clubs. Despite this, Hasaacas were expected to use their relative stability and experience to win. However, Faith Ladies' coach, Raymond Fenny, had a game plan that turned the match into an intense end-to-end battle.

A miscalculation by experienced goalkeeper Grace Banwa, who was caught off her line, gifted Amoako an opening to slot in the only goal of the match.
It was a missed opportunity for Hasaacas Ladies to chase only their second FA Cup title. For Faith Ladies, however, it marks a historic first final appearance and a chance to continue the tradition of the Women's FA Cup, which has crowned a new champion each season.
They will face Jonina Ladies, also first-time finalists, in the grand finale. Jonina secured their spot with a dominant 4-1 win over Rootz Sistaz from Somanya, the only Division One side to reach the semi-finals.
