GFA president congratulates Eto’o on re-election as FECAFOOT president

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has extended warm congratulations to Samuel Eto’o Fils following his decisive re-election as President of the Cameroun Football Federation (FECAFOOT) last Saturday.

In a message issued on behalf of the GFA, the Ghanaian football fraternity and personally, President Simeon-Okraku lauded Eto’o’s overwhelming mandate, having secured 85 of 87 votes at the Elective General Assembly held at the CAF Centre of Excellence in Mbankomo. 

He described the result as a “powerful endorsement of his visionary leadership and unwavering dedication.”

Simeon-Okraku praised the former Cameroun and Barcelona striker for the transformational impact he has had on Camerounian football over the past four years, highlighting his efforts to strengthen football structures, enhance professionalism and expand opportunities for young players nationwide.

“Your re-election reflects not only the remarkable progress made under your stewardship but also the confidence of the Camerounian football community in your ability to deliver even greater change in the years ahead,” the GFA president said.

He also reaffirmed the strong and mutually beneficial relationship between the Ghana and Cameroun football federations, expressing optimism about deepening collaboration for the advancement of African football.

“Your continued leadership at FECAFOOT is a significant asset to African football and we are confident that the next four years will deliver even more groundbreaking achievements,” Simeon-Okraku added.
