In an interview with the Daily Graphic in Accra, the Ghana Navy officer, who is on a five-year sporting scholarship in the USA, said he was impressed with his progression in the game since joining the Westchester Centre two years ago.

Nanevie said he was determined to impart the knowledge he had acquired in the USA into the upcoming generation and was looking forward to helping Ghana table tennis grow.

He explained that the game had evolved with modern balls and bats, as well as improved ways of playing and so his goal was “to train the young ones and some of the premier players to understand some of the basic and advanced techniques in the game”.

Beyond imparting knowledge, he said he was looking forward to creating opportunities for more Ghanaian players to benefit from the Westchester scholarship to train in the USA in the coming years because he was convinced the country was abound with talents.
