It took only four minutes for the host to break the deadlock when their skipper, Saaka Dauda, converted a spot kick to hand Boafoakwa the advantage.
Bright Boakye had profited from a pass to surge into the box of the visitors but Emmanuel Agyemang recklessly brought him down, and the referee had no other option than to award a penalty which was converted by Dauda.
Pressure
Despite going down early in the match, Nations FC did not relent and mounted pressure on Bofoakwa until the 12th minute when they nearly found the equaliser.
Nations FC came back from recess determined to cancel Bofoakwa's lead, and nearly succeeded in doing so when defender Razak Simpson's 48th minute free kick hit the crossbar, much to the relief of the homesters.
It took two brilliant saves by Bofoakwa's dependable goalie, Emmanuel Kobi, whose commendable effort in the 55th and 62nd minutes denied Nations FC the equaliser.
From then, Bofoakwa played cautiously and defended their early goal until referee Franklin Akumatey brought proceedings to an end.
