Hearts confirm Mintah, Sabahn, Nanor today

Accra Hearts of Oak are expected to confirm the appointment of Professor. J.K. Mintah today as the new technical head of the club.

Mintah takes over from Mohammed Polo whose six-month contract ended with the closure of the 2013/2014 Premier League season. A psychologist and a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, Mintah was the team psychologist for the Black Stars team Brazil 2014.

A Hearts source told the Daily Graphic that the former Dwarfs coach had been handed a two-year contract.

Mintah handled Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs for the past three season and quit before the end of last season in a move that worsened the relegation troubles of the Abontua Bontua Boys.

Also to be confirmed today is Sabahn Quaye, a former team manager of the club who quit to join Liberty Professionals. Quaye will serve in a new position as the director of operations.

Also appointed is Stephen Abugri, a former King Faisal head coach who will serve as Mintah’s assistant with James Nanor, a former goalkeeper, club as the new goalkeepers trainer.

Meanwhile, the appointment of two former players of the club, Eben Dida and Amankwa Mireku, who were appointed as goalkeepers’ trainer and team manager respectively have been terminated.
