Hearts ditch Don Bortey after he failed trials

Accra Hearts Oak have declined to offer veteran midfielder Bernard Don Bortey a deal after he spent two months training with the team.

Bortey, 33, during his time with Hearts hoped to prove his fitness with a view to earning a permanent deal with the Phobians.
The fan favourite was given a run in the GHALCA G6 competition but it appears the Hearts management were not impressed by what they saw.
The Serial Killer came on against Aduana Stars and dispatched his penalty expertly during Hearts penalty shootout loss in the G6 finals. Bortey was hoping to re-launch his career with Hearts and will now continue his search for a club elsewhere.
The likes of Medeama, Aduana and Bechem United are said to be interested in his services.
