I want to encourage the youth - Godwin Attram
More than 18 years since he left the shores of Ghana, ex-Black Stars offensive midfielder, Godwin Attram, has disclosed that his return to the local league was to encourage the current generation to aspire for the ultimate.
Attram, who turned down a contract to play in Ecuador because of the local league, said he had gained all what he wanted in football but what he wanted to do was to change the face of local football and the mentality of the players.

In his observation, the 35-year-old bemoaned the absence of quality players in the league as compared to his days, “those days we had good players whom you did not have to teach how to play but today even coordination on the field is a problem,” he said he said in an interview with the Graphic Sports.
Attram noted that management of Ghana’s league could not be exonerated from the current state of the local league and advised them to organise the league efficiently.
“Organization is a problem here, the management and the FA need to organize the league very well” he said.
“If you are not organising the league well or your administration is not good we will say it because football is all about organisation, administration must be good because a player cannot go to training and will not get his salary or winning bonus or kit to train and these are the problems that are sinking our league”, the Accra Great Olympic captain contended.
