John Ansah elected as Chairman of GHALCA
Former Vice Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), John Ansah has been elected as the new Chairman of the association.
Ansah, who takes over from outgoing Chairman Kudjoe Fianoo, will lead GHALCA for the next four years following the election held on Thursday, January 23, at the GHALCA offices at the Accra Sports Stadium.
He secured 96 votes out of 132 total votes cast, while his opponent, Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, received 35 votes, with one vote rejected.
In the Vice Chairman race, Phyllis Marku won with 94 votes, defeating Nana Amankwah, who received 34 votes.
Gabriel Godwin was elected as the Regional Football Association Representative, beating Isaac Gasper.
For the Ghana Premier League, Joseph Nkoo and Fred Tindan were elected as representatives, earning 26 and 18 votes, respectively. Rahman Yakubu, who was also contesting for the same position, received 14 votes and missed out.
Other executives who were elected unopposed are Patrick Martey Boye (Treasurer), Eric Opoku (Division One League Representative), Gabriel Godwin Kwao (Regional Clubs Representative), and ASP Naomi F. Abdulai (Women’s Premier League Representative).
