The Kenyans are targeting their first WWC appearance when the Under-20 event takes place in France next year, but that can only happen if they get Ghana out of their way in their second round of the qualifying campaign.

Like Ghana, the Kenyans are aware of the threat their host pose to their dream and are storming Cape Coast with a game plan to get a desirable result to make the second leg which they will host an easier task.

On arrival in Accra yesterday, Musa Otieno, the assistant coach of Kenya’s team, said while they respect Ghana for their stature in women’s football in Africa, they are not intimidated and are here to ‘cause an upset.’

“Ghana is a strong team which have been to the WWC before, we have had a good preparation and  have just the game plan to get a positive away result. A draw for us could mean a defeat for Ghana and that is what we aim for, then  we return home and do our best in the second leg which we will host. We will want to take advantage of hosting the second leg. I can’t see anyone side which would not want to make that advantage work ,” Otieno told the Daily Graphic at the airport.

With such a bold plan revealed, Princesses coach, Yusif Basigi must thus plan to keep their guests under check else they put their dream of being in France at risk.
“We know what the Kenyans can bring to the table. We have prepared for them. We are not revealing our game plan but no doubt we want to win and win big. We are not taking anything for granted,” Coach Basigi said.
