Minister assures Dogboe of govt’s support
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Isaac Asiamah, says his outfit is ready to support undefeated Isaac Dogboe in his upcoming WBO Interim Super Bantamweight title fight against Mexico's Caesar Juarez in Accra on Januray 6.
Mr Asiamah, who made the pledge when Team Dogboe paid a courtesy call on him in his office last Friday, underlined government's committment to revive boxing and other sporting disciplines in the country.

"We are behind you and will support your upcoming bout to make sure you defeat your opponent to win the title for the country," Mr Asiamah said.

Dogboe, who makes his 18th professional appearance in the ring against experienced Juarez (20-5, 15 KOs), expressed his profound gratitude to the Minister and Ghanaians for their support throughout his career.
He assured that he was ready to work harder to take up this opportunity by beating his opponent at the Bukom Boxing Arena on January 6 to end Ghana's eight-year wait for a world title.

"It has been a long and fruitful journey and I thank you and the entire nation for supporting me from the very start. I am ready to work harder and I assure you of victory over Caesar Juarez on the night," Dogboe said.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old pugilist and his father/trainer, Paul Dogboe, were due to leave for the United Kingdom yesterday to continue with preparations for the fight dubbed: “Battle of the Gold Coast".
According to Paul, Dogboe will return to the country in mid-December to round off his preparations against the Mexican.
