The launch of the 14th edition of the games  was performed by co-chairpersons of the event, Dr Francis Poku, Ebusuapanyin of the Old Boys of Mfantsipim School (MOBA), and Mr Franklin Alan Nuamah, national President of the Adisadel Old Boys Association (Santaclausians).

In his address, Dr Francis Poku said the games were a very important event on the calendar of both schools, as they share a lot   in the areas of sports, finance and politics.

“This event  is very important to both schools and the nation as a whole. At the end of the games we must raise enough funds so that we can give back to our alma maters. In the past MOBA used to always trounce the Santaclausians. I hope they will be up for it this time,” he said.

Franklin Nuamah thanked the sponsors for taking the risk to support the games, adding that both schools shared a strong bond in the areas of religion and academic excellence which were recognised the world over.

“We are excited to be among the generation of change makers. we must come together to use our healthy rivalry which has pervaded segments of our society. Our main goal is to raise funds towards the development of both schools,” Mr Nuamah noted.

Aside from the Santaclausians competing against MOBA in sports, including football, cricket, basketball and athletics, their sister schools, Wesley Girls, Mfantsiman Girls and Holy Child will also join the games in a round-robin format of football.
