No chance for locals in Satellites?
Winfred Osei, chairman of the Black Satellites Management Committee, says the lack of competition has put local-based players at a disadvantage in the selection of players for the Back Satellites ahead of the African Youth Championship next year.
Ghana has been drawn in a very competitive group for next year’s finals to be staged in Senegal.

The Black Satellites will be coming up against South Africa, Zambia and Mali.
In an interview on an Accra-based radio station, Osei contended that local players would have difficulty getting call ups as against foreign-based players due to the lack of competition following the delay in the start of the football season in Ghana due to a court litigation.
“Every local player in Ghana as at now is disadvantaged because of the delay in the start of the Premier League,” Osei stressed.
“We will therefore be looking towards players who are very active in Europe.
We will be looking at players who are playing regularly for their clubs and the ones who have been making impacts at their clubs’, he added.
He said the technical team would soon make an assessment of the foreign-based Ghanaian players in Europe and make a presentation to the management for the final squad.
