According to Gyan, the Bafana Bafana are a very good team with a lot of skillful players who can cause problems for the Black Stars.

"South Africa is a good team and they’ve got skillful players but I haven’t watched them in a while," Gyan said in an interview released by the Ghana Football Association's Communications Directorate.

"But definitely South Africa is good. They played 1-1 away (against Burkina Faso) and I think it was a good result for them. But the friendly is going to be very, very interesting, because we also got quality in our team so it’s going to be a balanced game.

"They are playing at home and the fans will be behind them and with our quality I think it’s going to be balanced and the better side will win."

Ghana's record marksman (with 48 goals) also addressed his infamous penalty miss against Uruguay in the quarter-finals at the 2010 World Cup which he said still haunts him. However, he stressed that the experience has made him stronger.

"(Coming here) always reminds me of that and not only me coming to South Africa," adds the former Sunderland forward.

"Losing like that, it’s been haunting me once in a while. It has made me a strong man and life goes on. But me coming to South Africa it’s just coming here to do what I do best and go."

Ghana will be without three first team players - Jonathan Mensah, Afriyie Acquah and Jordan Ayew - for the game which takes place at 5.00pm at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
