My love rap verses don't get enough credit — Kojo Cue

Ghanaian rapper Kojo Cue has opened up about what he considers an underrated dimension of his artistry, his ability to craft compelling love-themed rap verses.

Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi, the lyricist spoke with quiet confidence about a side of his music he feels is frequently overlooked by audiences and critics alike.

"One thing I feel like I don't get enough credit for is how great I am at making love rap verses," he said, adding that this is a point of genuine pride for him. I am very proud of that because my idols were very good at that also," he noted.

Drawing inspiration from artists who mastered the delicate balance between rap and romance, Kojo Cue made clear that this is not a casual strength; it is a studied and intentional part of his identity as an artist. He went further to extend an open invitation to fellow musicians looking for that touch on their projects.

"If any artiste has any love song, they should bring it; I will work on it beautifully," he added.

Beyond his craft, the rapper also offered a refreshingly grounded perspective on what success means to him, one that challenges the conventional obsession with awards and industry validation.

"I am one of those people who is not even excited about winning a GRAMMY, but rather pray for selling one billion records or selling out the O2," he revealed.

While he stopped short of dismissing the Grammy Awards entirely, he placed their value within a specific context.

"The GRAMMY is important because that is what holds the industry together and is one of the ranks people aim for to push themselves," he acknowledged.

Yet for Kojo Cue, the truest measure of musical achievement lies not in trophies or accolades, but in the emotional connection his music forges with everyday listeners.

"I am interested in what the music does for the people," he emphasised.
