WAFU draw: Ghana face Gambia in opener
Ghana’ s Black Stars B will begin their campaign to be West African Football Union (WAFU) champions, with a game against the Gambia after being paired in the draw held yesterday for the September competition to be hosted by Ghana.
Ghana are in Group A to be based in Takoradi, alongside Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Mali, Mauritania, Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
For their opening matches, Nigeria will play Sierra Leone, Mali will play Mauritania with Guinea playing Guinea Bissau.
Group B to be based in Cape Coast, Senegal will play Liberia, Burkina Faso will face Niger, Cote d’Ivoire and Togo will meet in the opening game, while Benin play Cape Verde.
The competition will take place from September, 9 to 24.
