The atmosphere is charged with excitement, creating a palpable buzz among students, faculty, and fans. The rivalry between the University of Ghana (UG) and Accra Technical University (ATU) has escalated, and the impending clash on the court promises to be nothing short of legendary.
In recent weeks, Coach Eric Ofori, Technical Director of Accra Technical University, has not minced words in targeting Coach Eric Ankamah, the University of Ghana's coach, asserting that UG is no match for his institution. "While I was away from ATU, I was told the University of Ghana had a field day beating all teams they met at the UPAC Basketball Championship. Their nemesis is back, and they know we will beat them," he confidently stated.
Coach Eric Ofori emphasized that basketball goes beyond the game day, stating that the University has enjoyed success for too long, and it's time to end that reign. With UG winning three out of the five encounters, he believes it's time to level the score.
Responding sharply, Coach Eric Ankamah of the University of Ghana expressed confidence, stating, "We know Accra Technical University very well. They are like our wives, so they can shout and scream, but they know how it will end. We are eagerly waiting for Sunday, 17th December, to silence them."
Fans from both universities are anticipated to fill the Bukom Boxing Arena on Sunday, 17th December, from 3 pm, creating an electric atmosphere that will undoubtedly heighten the intensity of the game. Beyond the court, the rivalry extends to students, alumni, and supporters passionately displaying their school colors and rallying behind their respective teams. This clash promises to be a showcase not only of athletic prowess but also of the vibrant spirit and camaraderie defining the collegiate experience.
