EY Ghana renews commitment to support businesses

EY Ghana has launched its 25th anniversary with a renewed commitment to support businesses in their growth and transformation journeys through the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and its deep industry knowledge.

The Country Managing Partner of the company, Emmanuel Adekahlor, explained that businesses that were not moving with the technological pace and sustainability requirement were likely to be left behind.

As a result, he said, EY Ghana — which has been at the forefront of providing professional services in the area of assurance, tax, consulting and advisory in the country — had built capacity to support businesses’ drive in that direction.

“We have built capacity within our firm, within our network to be able to support businesses to deliver on these mandates going forward.

“And so the next 25 years, I see us moving at a faster speed than we have done in the last 25 years because we have spent time building solid foundation, preparing that ground.

But now I think we should be able to take off, move faster at an accelerated pace to be able to support more clients and businesses to deliver on their value,” he stated

Launch

The anniversary launch, which took place at the company’s head office at Cantonments in Accra last Wednesday, saw both current and past staff members, regulators, business partners, alumni network come together to celebrate EY Ghana’s milestone of delivering exceptional professional services, driving growth and fostering innovation in Ghana’s business landscape, as well as supporting government’s efforts to build a more resilient economy.

It was also a moment of reflection, featuring fond memories of the company’s enduring and resilient history through diverse phases, as staff members and other alumni members took turns to acknowledge the firm which had supported regulators such as the Bank of Ghana and the Securities and Exchange Commission in advancing compliance and governance.

Members took stock of the company’s legacy and forged a path towards driving innovation for businesses in the country.

A tall-list of activities ,including seminars, launch of a memoir, thanksgiving services, among others, have been lined up to celebrate the 25-year milestone.

Mr Adekahlor, who is also an Assurance Partner, said the milestone was not just a celebration of years passed but a commemoration of a remarkable journey that began with a bold vision to create a legacy of excellence, integrity and impact.

“Over the past quarter century, EY Ghana has evolved into a trusted advisor, delivering value through four integrated service lines: tax, assurance, consulting and strategy,” he said.

He added that these services, combined with deep sector knowledge, had empowered clients to seize opportunities, manage risks, and achieve sustainable growth.

Strides

Touching on the firm’s strides, the Country Partner praised the high-performing multidisciplinary teams that had supported clients in fulfilling regulatory obligations and meeting the evolving expectations of stakeholders.

Specifically, he acknowledged the tax team's leadership in navigating complex tax environments and aligning strategies with broader business objectives.

He added that the assurance teams had also played a vital role in building trust in financial markets through high-quality, independent, and technology-driven services, while the consulting teams had helped organisation reimagine their business models and enhance performance.

He said partnering with government agencies, the firm had been able to strengthen institutions and shape policies.

Beyond the corporate realm, Mr Adekahlor highlighted EY's social responsibility initiatives, particularly through the EY Reports programme, which had positively transformed the lives of over 1,000 young people through educational sponsorships and community outreach.

On future plans, he called for bold thinking and deeper collaboration as EY Ghana embarks on the next chapter of its journey.

With this celebration, EY Ghana not only reflects on a legacy of excellence but also reaffirms its commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of its clients, communities, and the nation as a whole.

Business Executive, Ismael Yamson, encouraged staff members to reflect on their personal contributions to the firm’s journey, prompting them to consider the challenges, lessons, and successes that had shaped EY Ghana's story.

Looking ahead, he called for a continued commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence, underscoring the need to support Ghana's efforts to build a more resilient and prosperous nation.
