Ghanaian gets top ECOWAS Brown Card job
An astute Ghanaian insurance practitioner, Mr Winfred Kwasi Dodzih, has been appointed the Secretary-General of the Council of Bureaux of the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance scheme headquartered in Lome, Togo.
The appointment, which takes effect from January 1, 2017 is a four-year term renewable once. It was announced at the 33rd Ordinary Session of the Council held in Accra.

He would serve in the diplomatic capacity and coordinate all affairs of countries within the ECOWAS sub-region on matters related to the scheme.
Career
Until his appointment, Mr Dodzih was the Head of Technical (Non-Life Insurance) of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA). Prior to joining the GIA, he was the Head of Sales and Marketing at SIC Insurance Company.
He had a stint with Phoenix Insurance as the deputy head of Sales and Marketing before joining multinational, Metropolitan Life Insurance, as Head of Retail Marketing.
Education and professional qualifications
Mr Dodzih is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) of the UK and holds both Diploma and Advance Diploma in Insurance from the Ghana Insurance College.
A product of the University of Ghana, Mr Dodzih obtained a Bachelor of Science Administration degree from the then School of Administration, University of Ghana, Legon. He also holds a Masters Degree in International Affairs from the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD) in addition to an International Business Certificate from the Temple University, Institute of Global Management, Philadelphia and the Northeastern University, College of Business Administration, Boston Massachusetts all in the USA.
Mr Dodzih is an accomplished insurance practitioner and marketer with an Executive MBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana Business School. He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Ghana.
