Ali Jihami wins Marketing Icon of the Year award
The Head of Sales and Marketing at Ghandour Cosmetics Limited, Ali Jihami has been named the Marketing Icon of the Year for the Beauty and Personal Care segment at the National Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Summit and Awards 2022.
The applause was resounding as the suave silver-haired man walked up to accept his award at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
The award was in recognition of his achievements in the beauty and personal care industry in Ghana.

His Company also won the Beauty and Personal Care Brand of the Year for their Princess Paa Cocoa Buttercream.
Mr Jihami has over 20 years of experience in FMCG and specifically the Beauty and Personal care industry. He is an expert in traditional trade channels, designing and implementing Route-to-Market (RTM) strategies for the cosmetic industry in Ghana and the Sub-Saharan African region.
He has led his Company to increase its distribution network across Africa, whilst managing award-winning brands that have become staples in many homes such as Princess Paa Cocoa butter and BO-16 Hair Care.
Over the years, he has positioned his company’s brands in the hearts and minds of consumers by enlisting some of the most sought-after celebrity brand ambassadors in Ghana and Nigeria.
Beyond keeping a healthy bottom line, Mr Jihami has run successful corporate social responsibility campaigns and sponsorships that have impacted underprivileged children, health and sanitation, and empowering women and beauty professionals in Ghana.
In response to what has made him successful at what he does, Mr Jihami gave credit to supportive leadership, the work culture at Ghandour Cosmetics Ltd, and his love for his profession.

He said, “I am passionate about the beauty and cosmetics industry. I enjoy the changing trends, the increasingly high demands of consumers, and the competition to be innovative, and sustainable. I enjoy expanding into different markets and consumer segments. I love to see how beauty and cosmetics change lives and influence society. It is hard work, but it is also fun, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I dedicate this award to our ever-loyal customers”.
The Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Summit and Awards is a recognition and celebration of the vital role that the consumables sector plays in Ghana and Africa’s economy, and a gathering of its major players to network and deliberate on how to advance their businesses and the industry.
The awards also celebrated over 30 brands and individuals in various categories for their deliberate and consistent contribution to the industry.
